Getting Started...
Getting started….
I’m starting a different kind of daycare. A daycare for those of us who don’t like daycares. A place where babies are held as much as they want to be and someone is able to do it. Where no one is afraid to “spoil” a baby. Where kids are spoken to with gentleness and compassion. Where education takes place at every opportunity. Where children are encouraged to express themselves as much and however they want artistically instead of forced to draw the same tree as everyone else “because corporate said so.” Where we are always trying to find more eco-friendly ways of doing things. Where your parenting style is accepted, respected, and practiced with your child.
This is not the kind of place I have seen in my experience working in daycare. This is why I and so many other parents have a problem putting our children in daycares. So I’m starting a new one. Something more personal, where parent’s requests about their children’s care are welcomed and adhered too, not just followed until you leave the room. Where safety is always top priority, closely followed by nurture, education, and fun. Where caregivers consider it a privilege to be a part of your child’s life and treat their job as such.
And now I want to know, what do you want from your child’s daycare?
